A new $20 million elementary school facility opened in September 2009. Richard D. Crosby Elementary School has a capacity of 1,000 students and operates with 100 staff members and volunteers.

The Harvard area offers a weath of educational and training programs through nearby McHenry County College and its Center for Commerce & Economic  Development. The college also offers two and four-year degrees through partnerships with Webster and Columbia Universities.

The Shah Center in McHenry is home to MCC’s Small Business Development Center and other corporate training programs. SBDC counseling and programs provided in cooperation with the U.S. Small Business Administration and are offered free or at a minimal cost to Harvard businesses.
